AMMAN - Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Raad bin
Zeid, HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh
Global Digital (TAG.GD), participated as a guest of honor in the international
conference titled “Bridging Horizons”, organized by the Jordan-based Arab Open
University and Abu Dhabi University.
The Conference was held in the
presence of Prof. Tahrir Hamdi, president of the Arab Open University, and
Prof. Ghassan Aouad, chancellor of Abu
Dhabi University, along with elite of senior officials, academics, and experts
from various countries.
During the opening session,
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stressed that the world is experiencing an exceptional phase
that is reshaping the future of humanity, driven by the digital revolution and
Artificial Intelligence (AI). He went on to state that the progress of nations
is no longer measured by their natural resources, rather by their capacity to
create knowledge and develop human capital.
“Education is fundamentally not a service sector, but a pillar of national sovereignty and a strategic driver for building a strong and sustainable
national economy,” Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said, pointing out that modern education
system necessitates a comprehensive transformation toward a model based on lifelong
creative learning, scientific research and innovation as catalysts of economic
growth, as well as the development of digital and knowledge competencies, in addition to integration between education, industry
and the labor market, not to forget the provision of equitable educational opportunities for all segment of
society, including persons with disabilities.”
Moreover, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh
stressed that AI has become an essential foundation across different fields
including administration, economy, education, and media. He further urged the
development of clear policies and legislation to ensure the ethical use of
technology and the protection of human rights and privacy.
He affirmed that TAG.GD has
been working for years to develop initiatives and institutions dedicated to
digital transformation, intellectual property, and professional accreditation,
while also strengthening cooperation with universities and research centers to
build an Arab educational ecosystem characterized by efficiency and global
competitiveness.
At the end of his keynote
address, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh called for enhancing Arab and international
partnerships in addition to unifying efforts to establish a comprehensive
knowledge ecosystem that promotes sustainable development and contributes to
shaping a prosperous Arab future. He also expressed his gratitude to the
organizing committee and all partners and participants for their efforts and
contributions to the success of this distinguished international conference.
