The Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Polytechnic Dictionary: When Language Becomes a Tool for Shaping the Future

The slogan “We innovate since 1972” is proudly associated with Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Digital (TAG.GD), summarizing five decades of institutional excellence journey. It reflects a working philosophy that shows achievement not as a final destination; but as a starting point for a new level of development and excellence.

Recently, TAG.GD launched Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Digital Polytechnic (TAG.GDP), which reflects the forward-looking vision of TAG.GD’s founder and chairman, HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, to establish an innovative educational model that transcends traditional frameworks and embraces a sustainable approach capable of keeping pace with rapid transformations in knowledge and technology.

In this context, and as a reflection of its aspiration toward ongoing excellence, TAG.GD is releasing and publishing the ‘Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Polytechnic Dictionary’; a flagship publication in the Polytechnic’s library, designed and developed to make technical knowledge accessible worldwide, serving as a comprehensive reference connecting terms with concepts along with their practical application.

The Dictionary targets a diverse global audience, including students to understand new technical vocabulary, educators and researchers to refine academic accuracy, translators and media professionals to standardize technical terminology, and specialists and decision-makers to navigate the language of modern technology.

Comprising 1,750 pages, the Dictionary contains more than 11,700 technical and scientific entries and terms. It covers a wide range of fields, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, computer science, programming, cybersecurity, cloud computing, robotics, natural language processing, digital transformation, and AI governance and ethics.

The Dictionary was designated in line with the vision of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh that sustainability in education does not simply mean ensuring the continuity of an institution; rather, it means enabling learners to remain capable of learning and developing as the world around them continues to change.

Beyond its comprehensive scope, the Dictionary’s true value lies in its methodology. It goes beyond providing Arabic equivalents for English terms by delivering precise bilingual definitions contextualized within scientific frameworks and international standards. In this way, it becomes more than a book; it becomes an important knowledge tool.

Ultimately, this publication reflects the core mission of TAG.GDP, providing sustainable digital education that not only prepares learners for the future, but also equips them with the tools to understand and actively shape it.
