China Seeks New International Relations Away From War Mentality

China advocates for a partnership-based approach, aiming at building an international community with a shared future for humanity. This vision calls for new international relations that go beyond the zero-sum games and war mentality, with a focus on mutual trust, equality, and respect for cultural diversity.

Beijing has consistently affirmed its commitment to numerous cooperative initiatives to enhance regional security, economic development, cultural exchange, and global governance. Indeed, the speech of the Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit (SCO) had highlighted this commitment to regional and international cooperation by focusing on collective security, economic integration, cultural exchange, and the promotion of global peace and development.

It is well known that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was established in 1996 as a regional Eurasian bloc called the "Shanghai Five," which included China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan. After the accession of Uzbekistan, India, Pakistan, and most recently Iran at the India summit, the organization now represents half of the world's population.

China has placed great emphasis on strengthening security and law enforcement within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) region. A key initiative involves training law enforcement officers through various platforms such as the exchange and cooperation base, international judicial training in China, and the SCO. Additionally, China advocates for comprehensive discussions to facilitate peacebuilding and reconstruction in Afghanistan, recognizing the need for stability in the entire region.

China also considers the promotion of cultural understanding and transcending differences as fundamental elements of its approach in advocating for equality, mutual learning, dialogue, and tolerance among civilizations. China rejects any notions of cultural superiority.

Nevertheless, the Belt and Road Initiative remains a central strategy for enhancing economic influence and connectivity with other countries. By advocating for a new model of international relations, China indicates a shift towards a more inclusive and multilateral approach to global challenges. This initiative is a key element in China's strategy which aims to strengthen links between development strategies and facilitate regional trade.
