A Cedar Tree Officially Registered in Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh’s Name in Lebanon





BEIRUT – The Baakline Poetry Forum in Lebanon in collaboration with Jordan’s Poetry House has organized a tour in the town of Baakline in the Lebanese Chouf District that includes the Barouk Cedar Reserve; where a cedar tree was planted and officially registered in the name of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh to be witness to his achievements in science, knowledge and community service fields.  

The tour was organized in conjunction with a special ceremony held by Baakline Forum and Jordan’s Poetry House to honor Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for his efforts in serving economy, culture and knowledge in the presence of a host of officials, poets and journalists. 

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh was accompanied in his tour by poet and writer Dr. Hadi Eid, Mr. Ghazi Saab, Director of Lebanese National Library in Baakline and Jordanian poet, Sameer Qudaisat, in addition to a host of officials and dignitaries from the Baakline local community. 

Moreover, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh visited the “Poet’s Monument” and laid a wreath of flowers expressing his recognition of the important role of poets in enriching cultures of societies throughout history. He also visited the Lebanese National Library where he was briefed on its different sections and its huge archive that contains rare manuscripts and books.

The Lebanese National Library is a socio-cultural center in Baakline which provides a set of services with the aim to preserve, promote and transmit the national heritage.
