Abu-Ghazaleh Presents His 'Brave Knowledge World'; Commends UAE's Involvement in Artificial Intelligence





DUBAI- HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh discussed his latest global publication "The Brave Knowledge World" and presented his strong belief in the power of the knowledge and technological world that will lead to “a glowing” future in a lecture hosted by The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department-H.H. The Ruler's Court.

The 184-page book, introduced Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh's vision on the weaknesses and strengths of modern technological applications and realization of their power and their capacity limitations in addition it explains deeply the development in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its role in various fields including education.

During the lecture as part of the UAE’s National Month of Reading, an initiative triggered by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai who tweeted "The region was stronger with enlightened young readers," Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh highlighted the achievements of the United Arab Emirates in the field of AI thanking the great leadership of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, for his vision and support.

"Building the future needs the digital transformation of communities using the modern technologies especially that today we are witnessing the 4th Industrial Revolution and this knowledge revolution will radically transform all areas of life and we need to be ready," he said.

"We need to focus on ICT education and guide students towards the so-called industry of knowledge, creativity and innovation from early stages and transition from education to the learning stage," Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh who is the first to establish Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University College for Innovation (TAGUCI) designed to produce ICT innovators where students and in order to graduate they must produce a unique innovation, said. 

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh also tackled one of the leading problems in the world which is the global warming considering it a challenge that is threatening our civilization with experts predicting a human crisis in 2032 due to global warming calling on France to lead the rescue campaign as the host of the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris in 2015. Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh sees that forming an international team in the AI field is more influential than the government team in the UN stressing   on the need to develop binding standards imposed on companies causing damage to the environment, and the use of AI as a solution to the problem of environmental pollution. 

Meanwhile and regarding the expected 2020 global financial crisis, he stated that he follows studies of international research centers indicating that the Gulf countries will be the least to be affected during the crisis even they will benefit from the hike in oil prices which will reach $150. 

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, an avid champion of advancement in technology has been involved in the IT sector for ages and as the chair of the UN ICT Task force and UN Global Alliance for ICT for development he always stressed the need to embrace technology because it is the path for a better future.

At the end of the lecture, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh received an Honorary Shield from HE Dr. Loay Belhoul, Director General of Legal Affairs Department and signed his book to the attendees.
